1930 is considered to be the year of foundation of the Voronezh state university of engineering technologies when the Voronezh Institute of Food Industry was established. The journal was founded in 1938 and was called the "Proceedings of the Voronezh chemical- and technological institute".
On November 8, 1945, it was decided to move the VChTI to Leningrad and to rename it in the Leningrad Technological Institute of the Food Industry (LTIFI). In 1949 the magazine was called "Proceedings of the Leningrad Technological Institute of the Food Industry".
On February 14, 1959 the Council of Ministers adopted a decree to move LTIFI in Voronezh "due to the ordering of network educational establishments in the country and bringing them closer to the manufacture". In 1960, the journal was called "Proceedings of the Voronezh Technological Institute".
In 1994, the Voronezh Technological Institute (VTI) was renamed into the Voronezh State Technological Academy (VSTA). In 1997, the journal was called "Herald of the Voronezh State Technological Academy" and was issued once a year. The Academy administration made a decision to issue a quarterly journal series since 2008:

In 2011, the Voronezh State Technological Academy (VSTA) received the status of the Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies (VSUET).
