Abstract

The article presents a regression model of the pulse-jet cleaning process of bag filters, developed to determine the parameters necessary for the effective regeneration of the filter partition. The initial data for modeling are obtained on an experimental stand equipped with automated control devices, which allowed the filter and operating conditions to be varied. The proposed approach considers the adhesion forces between the surface of the partition and the captured particles, forming a layer of contaminants on it, as well as the detachment forces generated by the compressed air-pulse during cleaning. The peak cleaning pressure provided by the regeneration system was selected as the parameter that determines efficiency. The peak pressure is expressed as a function of several variables: air mixture density (ρ), air flow rate for regeneration (Q), compressed-air pressure in the receiver (p(res)), diameter of the mixing chamber (throat) of the Venturi tube or bag diameter (in the absence of an ejector nozzle) (Dk), nozzle diameter (dc), and the distance between the nozzle and the throat of the filter element (S). To reduce the number of independent variables, these parameters were combined into dimensionless groups. The resulting power- law regression equation has a high degree of approximation, with deviations from the experimental data not exceeding 14%. The developed model can be used to determine optimal operating parameters for pulse-jet cleaning systems, both during the design of new bag filters and for optimization of existing systems.
